FAQs

  • What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy. It involves applying pressure to the feet/ hands/ face. I apply pressure to certain reflexes/points located in various areas of the feet, hands and or face to a client, which will correspond to various organs of the body.
  • Am I able to heal the person medically?
No. We, as reflexologists are not medically trained .Rather than calling ourselves the “healer,” we are merely the participants. We help the client’s body relax through targeting the pressure points/reflexes. In short, we only trigger the body for it to nurture and heal itself. If you are feeling unwell you should seek advice from a medical expert.
  • Is Reflexology a massage?
No, it is completely different from a massage. Reflexologists use specific thumb, finger, and hand massage techniques to manipulate reflex areas in the feet that correspond to all organs, glands, and parts of your body. By stimulating these reflexes, the blood and nerve supply is increased to where the body needs it most. You do not have to take off clothes, only your footwear and socks/tights.
  • How often should I have reflexology?
The number of treatments you will need, depends on your ailment or condition, how long you have had it and what you are hoping to achieve. If you are focused on a specific health issue, I would recommend that you have weekly sessions for 6 weeks, then as a maintenance programme, I would suggest one session per month. If you are having treatments to promote general relaxation and health, then I would suggest one session per month. However, the frequency of treatments are entirely up to you and your own personal preference. It might be once per week, once per month or even once per year.
  • What should I do before any complementary session?
It is a good idea not to eat a heavy meal less than an hour before your treatment. Drinking alcohol before and after your appointment is not advised.
  • How will I feel after my treatments?
Reflexology balances the body and promotes self- healing. Many clients feel the benefit both during and after their first treatment. However, for more long standing issues, it may take a few treatments for you to notice the improvement in your wellbeing.
  • What is Indian Head Massage?
The therapists starts working the scalp and face and then moves to the shoulders and upper back. You are asked to wear a loose cotton top. You will be squeezed, rubbed, prodded and gentle tapping. Your ears will be pressed and pressure points are also worked on.
  • What are the benefits of Indian Head Massage?
Improvements in blood circulation and lymphatic circulation and promoting swift removal of toxins from the body.
