Hi I'm Collette

How I became interested in Complementary Therapy

Over the many years of travelling throughout Australia, Bali, Vietnam, India and many more countries, I was always attracted to the alternative medicine, the more natural healing of the body rather than the conventional medical way. I have experienced many complementary therapies over the many years of travelling and was eager to learn more when I returned home to Ireland.

Who am I

I am passionate about the health and well-being of others and I am a firm believer that various holistic therapies can help individuals with physical and emotional ailments that may happen throughout one’s life.

Being empathetic and caring are key skills to have when seeing my clients, as many have personal issues they are trying to deal with. Listening is also an important skill to have as that in itself can be therapeutic, sometimes the client just needs someone with a good listening ear.

Grange Stone Circle

When I moved out from Limerick city and relocated to the countryside near Lough Gur, we were fortunate enough to have the mytholitical Grange Stone Circle at a “stones throw away” from my treatment room.

It is thought that ritualisitc ceremonies were performed in the circle during the summer and winter solstice celebrations.

Silver Elephant Therapies

The elephant is associated with Buddha and the Indian deity Ganesh. It is a symbol for strength, wisdom, power, fertility and good luck. It is believed if the trunk of the elephant is facing in an upwards position, it represents success, prosperity, mental strength and good luck.

In Hinduism, the elephant god is believed to represent the remover of obstacles and negative forces, which will lead to success – hence where the name, Silver Elephant comes from.

My daughter came up with the name. She knows I like the material silver and admire elephants as an animal. Even though they are such enormous-sized animals, they can be quite gentle, graceful and peaceful. Elephants in general symbolize the qualities of courage, strength, longevity and patience. I believe in all of these qualities, when I carry out the treatments I practice.
